The deadline is March 1 — but the planning should happen year-round. We help you optimize contributions to reduce your tax owing.
Send us your slips and documents, we handle everything. Most personal returns are completed within 5–7 business days.
What documents do I need to provide?
The core documents are your T4 slips (from employers), T5 slips (investment income), T3 slips (trust income), RRSP contribution receipts, and any T-slips from other income sources. If you have rental income, bring your rental income and expense records. If you have medical expenses, compile your receipts. We'll provide a personalized checklist when you book your appointment.
What is the personal tax filing deadline?
The standard deadline is April 30. If you or your spouse are self-employed, you have until June 15 to file — but any taxes owing are still due April 30. Filing late when you owe taxes results in a 5% penalty on the balance owing plus 1% per month. Filing on time, even if you can't pay, avoids the late-filing penalty.
How do I send you my documents?
We accept documents in several ways: through our secure client portal, by email (for non-sensitive documents), or in person at our Etobicoke office. For clients with physical T-slips and receipts, we can arrange a drop-off or mail-in process. We never ask you to send sensitive documents through unsecured channels.
Can you file returns for prior years I missed?
Yes. There is no limit on how many years back you can file, and there are often compelling reasons to do so — including accessing missed refunds, establishing RRSP room, or qualifying for benefits like the Canada Child Benefit. If you owe taxes from prior years, we can also assist with CRA's Taxpayer Relief Program to request penalty and interest waivers.
